I recently ran out of my shea butter mix which I use on my hair and body. My grandma swears by the use of “orie” on the skin and it is believed in parts of West Africa to have healing qualities. I often wondered if there was any other butter that was as rich in fatty acids, that had similar emollient and softening properties. The answer is mango butter. I had bought some a while back and decided to make my next batch of hair and body cream from it.

Ingredients:
1 cup mango butter
1/2 cup coconut oil (cold pressed)
1/4 cup shea butter
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (cold pressed)
1 tbsp grapeseed oil
1 drop tea tree essential oil
2 drops peppermint oil
Instructions:
Put all the ingredients except the shea butter in a bowl and blend with a hand mixer. Whip till you get a whipped cream consistency. Add the shea butter if you need more of a thicker texture. Some people use a freezer bag or piping bag to fill their containers. I just use a spatula and scoop into your tub and there you have it.
This cream is extremely light and moisturising. I really love it. Happy mixing!
